That´s what I mean by Human slavery to space-time because of ego satisfaction.

I am going to speak about the individual but not in the nietzschean sense but rather in the Schopenhauer´s one. With the idea that ego not always is a defect nor the source of all evil, but that it manifests in two forms (idea to which I will return later) I´m going to divide the concept of ego in two categories named the first and second forms of the manifestation of ego respectively; the first one is the source of all defects in human beings (when combined with reason) and the second one is the source of all virtue (when is free of material desire.) I will speak in this post about the ego in its first form.

I have been thinking for a long time about the lack of freedom of Humanity because of its slavery to desire satisfaction. And yes, Humanity has no freedom because they all are just slaves of desire, subjects of craving, ego satisfiers: individuals. I say this because as soon as they have a desire, they quickly use reason to achieve desire satisfaction no matter what or whom they hurt, not even themselves in order to get it. This necessity of ego satisfaction is not exclusive of human beings, but animals also have it, though the very difference between humans and animals is that humans have in addition the ability to reason, and is this mixture of necessity of ego satisfaction and the ability to reason which causes all damage we can see around the world, since human beings only use incorrectly this ability to achieve egocentric goals, instead to use it to realize that such behavior is rather destructive, since sets human beings into a state worse than animals when they lose the capability of adapting to Nature and society armonically because of this incorrect use. In this sense, human beings are blind, and this blindness is the result of this ego satisfaction by means of reason, since this mixture allows human beings to achieve deeper and generally more perverted ends, which not even animals, cause they have no reason, can reach. These deeper egocentric achievements fasten humanity to a vicious state of desire satisfaction and suffering while not satisfied, and because desire is endless, suffering will be recurrent, allowing only some moments of ephemeral happiness. The fastening of humanity to that vicious state of desire satisfaction with the aid of reason is what makes it slave and removes its freedom. Thus reason used in this incorrect way slaves humanity and because, as Kant says, space-time is only a form of the reason principle, space-time will contribute to slave when the reason is used for ego satisfaction, preventing human beings of enjoying things beyond space and time. Ego satisfaction and desire satisfaction can be summarized in necessity of the individual and with this we can conclude that Human Beings as individual and society will reach complete Freedom when they get free of all want, not because they have everything, but because they no longer need anything. This is an ideal obviously, but the more human beings get close to it the genuinely happier they will be; though it also depends on the economic-political and religious system we are, and this justifies the pic.

As an example of this fact I want to share this story I found in Neila Lott Google+ account to confirm the human slavery state and how this prevents him of enjoying things beyond space and time.

Something to think about... We Are Missing A Lot In Life.- By Neila Lott

A man sat at a metro station in Washington DC and started to play the violin; it was a cold January morning. He played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, since it was rush hour, it was calculated that 1,100 people went through the station, most of them on their way to work.

Three minutes went by, and a middle aged man noticed there was musician playing. He slowed his pace, and stopped for a few seconds, and then hurried up to meet his schedule.

A minute later, the violinist received his first dollar tip: a woman threw the money in the till and without stopping, and continued to walk.

A few minutes later, someone leaned against the wall to listen to him, but the man looked at his watch and started to walk again. Clearly he was late for work.

The one who paid the most attention was a 3 year old boy. His mother tagged him along, hurried, but the kid stopped to look at the violinist. Finally, the mother pushed hard, and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. All the parents, without exception, forced them to move on.

In the 45 minutes the musician played, only 6 people stopped and stayed for a while. About 20 gave him money, but continued to walk their normal pace. He collected $32. When he finished playing and silence took over, no one noticed it. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.

No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the most talented musicians in the world. He had just played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, on a violin worth $3.5 million dollars.

Two days before his playing in the subway, Joshua Bell sold out at a theatre in Boston where the seats averaged $100.

This is a real story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste, and priorities of people. The outlines were: in a commonplace environment at an inappropriate hour: Do we perceive beauty? Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize the talent in an unexpected context?

One of the possible conclusions from this experience could be:

If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing the best music ever written, how many other things are we missing?
